Music Industry: Is Drake Bigger Than The Beatles?

Drake was crowned Artist of the Decade by the Billboard Music Awards. Watching him celebrate by renting out the new 70,000 capacity SoFi football stadium in LA and eating dinner with his famous friends on the 50 yard line made us wonder - is Drake the biggest artist ever?

• Let’s start with rattling off his ridiculous records. Drizzy has the most top 10 singles in the history of the Billboard charts with (40), beating Madonna (38) and The Beatles (34)

• Drake also has the most top 10 hits in a single year with (11). The Beatles held this record for 54 years with (10), until Canada’s best export since maple syrup came along

• But if you look at albums, this debate isn’t even close. In just 8 years together as a band, The Beatles racked up a record (19) #1 albums to Drake’s (9). 

Last Thought 💭

Drake is the most streamed artist of all time. He is without a doubt the most successful artist of the Internet era. But it’s impossible to imagine how The Beatles became bigger than the Pope without even a dial up connection.
