Artist Feature: Starchild & The New Romantic

Starchild & The New Romantic sound like they boarded a space shuttle with Parliament-Funkadelic in 1975, linked up with Prince in heaven, and just touched back down on earth to bless us with with one of the freshest sounding albums of the past few months with Forever [Listen on Spotify]. Bryndon Cook (Starchild) is not a newbie to the scene, having been releasing music since 2016 and collaborating with artists such as Solange, Chairlift, and Blood Orange, but this definitely feels like he’s finally having a breakout moment. His music is funky, sensual, experimental at times, and easily one of the most unique blending of genres we’ve heard in a minute.
